Hin Nam Nor submission to UNESCO next year
The final master plan of Hin Nam Nor National Protected Area in Khammuan province for submission to the World Heritage list will be sent to UNESCO early next year for assessment. An official for the Hin Nam Nor National Protected Area, who asked not to be named, told Vientiane Times on January 26 that Laos has already satisfied all of the conditions and documentation to nominate Hin Nam Nor National Protected Area as a World Heritage site. We expect to send the final master plan to UNESCO in early 2018 but we cannot say if or when the documents will be approved by UNESCO, she said. After UNESCO finishes assessment of the final master plan they will then carry out a technical assessment at Hin Nam Nor National Protected Area. We have already prepared for almost 10 years for the Hin Nam Nor National Protected Area to become a World Heritage site, the official added.
