Information project eases Lao government decision making
The inaugural meeting of the cross-sectoral Steering Committee of the Lao Decide Info project took place in Vientiane on 17 February, to assess the progress of the project to date.
Lao Decide Info plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of key information relating to the socio-economic situation in Laos, which contributes to the monitoring of the development path and the national goal of graduating from least developed country status.
The project, operational since 2006, is currently in its third phase. It aims to foster evidence-informed planning and decision-making in and across key ministries of the Lao government. The project does so by providing technical motivations, training activities, and information analysis support to a wide range of institutions of the Lao government.
