NEC refuses to delay registration
The National Election Committee on February 28 dismissed complaints raised by political parties about the complexity and confusion surrounding the registration process ahead of the June commune elections. The NEC also refused to delay the deadline for political parties to register to be eligible to stand for election this year, despite complaints of unclear guidelines and complicated procedures. “The NEC cannot approve the request [for a delay].
