Parliament to prioritise pending legislations
The fifth parliamentary session will resume on May 18 and the process of approving bills will be emphasised. Pyithu Hluttaw Bill Committee chair U Tun Tun Hein said that these are bills which have yet to be finished. “So we will prioritise them as soon as the next parliament session resumes,” he told reporters after the National League for Democracy’s central executive committee meeting on May 6 at Nay Pyi Taw Sipin Guesthouse. He said the bill for hand-dug oil wells and the bills for canals and dams were also left unfinished in Pyithu Hluttaw. In addition to pending bills, new bills and bills for amendment will also be submitted. One of these includes the notorious Section 66 (d) of the Telecommunications Law which is likely to be discussed in parliament.
