Cambodia: One dinner, big message

The two first families of Cambodian politics dined together Saturday night, talking selfies and putting human faces on the “Culture of Dialogue.”

The dinner at the Cambodiana drew together for one meal the families of Prime Minister Hun Sen and opposition leader Sam Rainsy. The convivial, informal images posted on Facebook accounts seem to signal that political détente is here to stay.

“This is to set the appropriate example of the furtherance of our culture of dialogue which must be implemented by all officials and supporters of both the CPP and CNRP and also emulated by the next generation of Cambodia’s citizens,” Sam Rainsy said.
