EPF supports green growth initiatives

Laos launched a new project at the Ministry of Planning and Investment on January 18 aiming to support capacity building and mainstreaming green in the country. The agreement ceremony was attend by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, Dr Kikeo Chanthabouly. The new project, known as Capacity building on the environment and the green growth agenda into national, sub-project and sectorial strategies and action plans, is being implemented with development assistance from the Environmental Protection Fund. The total cost of the three -year project starting this year is over 4 billion kip to be spent on project activities in Laos. Director General of the Planning and Investment Department under the ministry, Ms Phonevane Outhavong said at the ceremony that the government has developed a strategy for green development aimed at environmental protection activities in the country.
