Four dead as week of bad weather predicted

Four people died, three were injured and more than 100 houses were destroyed as storms and lightning swept across several provinces in a streak of bad weather set to continue until Saturday. In Preah Vihear province, one woman was killed in Choam Khsan district on Sunday night. Deputy district police chief Has Suth said two villages in Romdos commune were badly hit. The storm tore down 11 houses completely, while another 90 lost their roofs. The houses collapsed so quickly, the victims could not escape,” Mr. Suth said. Mr. Suth said provincial Red Cross officials provided aid to affected villagers yesterday morning, including money, noodles, rice, soy sauce and canned fish.
