Illegal meat confiscated

Koh Kong provincial authorities, in collaboration with the Wildlife Alliance, on Tuesday confiscated 50 kilos of illegal game meat as well as several wild animals that were still alive. The animals were released in Botum Sakor National Park while the confiscated meat was buried. Agriculture department director Ung Menglea said he had yet to receive the full report of the raid but noted that the restaurant in question was called Sabay Saby in Khmarak Phumin town. The restaurant owner was not arrested but fined six million riel ($1,500).
