Labour ministry reviewing agencies deposit fee order

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population is now reviewing its deposit fee order for overseas employment agencies, according to an official in charge of migration at the ministry. The ministry’s Migration Department Director General U Thein Win told The Myanmar Times on Friday that the subject is still under discussion. “Once discussions have concluded we will provide detailed information to agencies on how much they have to deposit to the ministry,” said U Thein Win. The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population ordered in March that overseas employment agencies must deposit K50 million for their agency’s licenses within three months in order to protect possible violations of the law.
