Minister aims to boost farming through partnerships

The government is considering setting up public private partnerships to add value to the country’s farming industry, Agriculture Minister Veng Sakhon has told a meeting of senior regional leaders. Speaking at the Grow Asia Forum on May 10, Mr Sakhon said Cambodia is in the process of formulating a master plan for agriculture development between now and 2030. Established by the World Economic Forum and the ASEAN secretariat, Grow Asia is attended by companies, governments, NGOs and other stakeholders who want to help smallholder farmers improve their production and livelihood. It is intended to help participants explore scenarios for the future of food systems and agriculture in the region and showcase results from country partnerships and value chain initiatives.
