Ministry promotes LPG industry

The government will issue free licences to small liquefied petroleum gas retailers in a bid to promote safety in the under-regulated industry, while moving forward with plans to allow larger companies to distribute the fuel. Licences for small and medium enterprises to sell LPG will be issued for free until the end of this year, said U Maung Maung Thaw, deputy director of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy’s Myanmar Petroleum Products Enterprise. “The aim is to expand LPG use among the public and for vendors to sell it safely,” said U Maung Maung Thaw.
