Myanmar celebrates the power of women this week

The government and several parties – including foreign embassies, business groups and non-governmental organisations – are coming together to hold a series of programs on women empowerment this week. The programs from Monday to Sunday in Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw are part of a global celebration marking International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8. The opening event would be the Women’s Empowerment Forum at Kempinski Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on March 6. State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will be speaking in the Business Talk program, which will also be aired live on MRTV and the Facebook pages of the Myanmar President Office and the State Counsellor.
