Attapeu hopes to build wind power
The wind speeds in some parts of Attapeu province are sufficient for the development of wind power in the neighbourhood however wind turbines are not yet seen there.
Director of the provincial Energy and Mines Department Mr Vithaya Phommachanh told Vientiane Times on 10 February that there is wind in the province based on information from a satellite survey carried out by the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
A Thai company has even come to survey the areas where there is the wind in the province. Most places where wind speeds are sufficient are located along the border of Laos and Vietnam.
