Basic education quality project underway in Luang Prabang

The Ministry of Education and Sports and Save the Children are jointly implementing the Basic Education Quality and Access Project in Nambak district, Luang Prabang province. The two year project worth more than 4 billion kip (US$493,812) is being funded by the Australian government and EU to promote education access and participation in 30 target schools in Nambak district. It is expected that approximately 3,798 children, 71 teachers, 140 Village Education Development Committees, 4,000 parents and education staff will benefit from the project. A Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony took place in Vientiane on February 2, between Director of Luang Prabang provincial Education and Sports Department, Mr. Eung Losavanh and Country Director of Save the Children Laos Mr Olivier Franchi.
