MPs voice discontent on YBS

A total of 26 MPs supported Wai Phyo Han’s proposal concerning the Yangon Bus Service in parliament on April 24. Intending to change Yangon’s notorious bus service, the Yangon Region Government started using the new YBS on January 16. However, on April 16, three months after the launch, commuters still experienced considerable difficulties and inconveniences. On April 5, MP U Wai Phyo Han submitted a proposal suggesting that for YBA “to become a better public transport system”, “effective rules and regulations needs to be submitted transparently … to the public” and to the parliament, and action has to be swift. “There are still lots of inconveniences and the public has shown patience towards the YBS.
