Free private high school for under-privileged

A free private high school will be opened in Taunggok township, Rakhine State during this academic year to cater to students who are poor and cannot afford the fees.​ Sayadaw Eindapala, who heads the school establishment, said, “We cannot pay much to the teachers as we will have to work together with local donors. Current teachers at the school are unable to carry on teaching and that’s why we have requested some retired teachers to help.” The Sayadaw said that 90 percent of the school construction has been completed, but it will be able to accept students for only the ninth standard this year. Only 80 students will be admitted, 40 boys and 40 girls. They must be poor but outstanding to gain admittance.
