Bun Rany urges midwives to upskill

Cambodia’s first lady has called on all midwives to prioritise professional development and improve their skills, ahead of the International Day of the Midwife tomorrow. Prime Minister Hun Sen’s wife Bun Rany, who is also president of the Cambodian Red Cross, sent a letter calling on all midwives to provide the highest standard of services to women around the country. “We have to strengthen our health system to ensure all women are receiving care from expert midwives,” Ms Bun Rany said. She said the International Day of the Midwife is an opportunity to educate civil servants and the wider public about the responsibilities of the job.
