Project reviews progress of basic education

The steering committee of Basic Education Quality and Access in Laos programme met on February 21 to review progress on the implementation of the project and discussed the BEQUAL plan 2017. The programme seeks to address barriers to effective participation and ensured that all children, particularly non-Lao speakers, girls and children with disabilities, enroll in primary schools. The activities are aligned with and contribute to the 8th education sector development plan. Progress on the implementation of the agreement of the steering committee meeting for the BEQUAL programme took place in Vientiane on February 21. Minister of Education and Sports Ms Sengdeuane Lachanthaboun, Australia’s Ambassador to Laos, John Williams and the EU Ambassador Leo Faber were the chairs.
