Vietnam provides radio, television stations for Oudomxay

Vietnam Television has provided new radio and television transmission stations for Xay district, Oudomxay province, which will become operational today following a handover ceremony in Vientiane on November 29.​ A document to hand over the two stations was signed by Laos’ Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Prof. Dr Bosengkham Vongdara, and the Director General of Vietnam Television, Tran Binh Minh. Construction cost more than 38.7 billion kip (107.9 billion Vietnamese dong), funded by Vietnam Television, with work on the project beginning in January 2014 and ending this month. Vietnam Television also provided an office, staff housing and other facilities. The power capacity of the FM radio station is 20kW while that of the television station is 10kW. The stations will be used to transmit useful information to local communities.
